Dear Readers,
I'm postponing today's How Tuesday to bring you something new, a brand new set of "Webisodes" starring my fellow Christmas Town elves, including the other Holly and Jolly. Normally, these webisodes will come out every Wednesday, but seeing as today is #givingtuesday, I just couldn't resist releasing this video a little early. I think you're really going to like it.
Busch Gardens Cares is participating in the Toys For Tots toy drive to help local families provide Christmas presents for their children this holiday season. They've invited their guests to bring an unwrapped toy to the park to donate to this worthy cause. In addition, Busch Gardens Cares is donating more than $5,000 in toys to the Hampton Roads chapter of Toys for Tots.
How did they pick out that many toys? Easy, they asked seven students from York Middle School and James River Elementary to help them #playitforward. Our elves and even some of the toy soldiers from Deck the Halls joined the students at the Newport News location of Toys"R"Us for a glorious shopping spree:
A big thank you to the children, the Marines, Toys"R"Us and Busch Gardens "elves" who helped ensure that every child gets to experience the joy of unwrapping that perfect present on Christmas Day.
Now through Dec. 14, guests are invited to bring an unwrapped toy with them on their next visit to Christmas Town. To find a donation location nearest you, visit www.toysfortots.org.
Cheers,
